Some filters are installed in front of the dryer, some are installed after the dryer, sometimes some filters are also installed in front of the factory's production machine. Orion Compressed Air Filter
Orion has 4 filters corresponding to 4 different filtering levels, each filter has a different task, function and location.
1. DSF-AL WATER SEPARATOR FILTER
DSF-AL is an acronym for Drain Super Filter-Aluminum means high performance water separation filter. With an outer shell made of aluminum (to distinguish it from the outer shell made of 304 stainless steel with the symbol SUS).
To be first level of filtration in Orion's compressed air treatment system. Orion primary compressed air filter DSF-AL is installed in front of the dryer. Has the function of separating and filtering water and dirt molecules size larger than 5 microns. Without reducing filtration performance. The reason this filter is installed in front of the dryer is to remove a small amount of water before the air entering the dryer to reduce the load on the dryer. When compressed air passes through this filter, the pressure loss (pressure drop) is 0.005 Mpa or lower. This can be said to be a very low level of incubation loss but the filtration efficiency is still high. That is Orion's success in designing high-performance filter cores
All Orion DSF-AL filters have an integrated automatic drain valve.
The small filters under the DSF400-AL have automatic discharge built into the bottom in the form of a float. When the float water rises, the valve opens and discharges automatically. For larger filters, the drain valve is separate and is an accessory attached to the filter. When installing, just screw it under the filter.
Longevity of the filter cores Orion primary filter DSF-AL is one year or more. Depending on the actual working environment conditions, replace on time. Or there is a differential pressure meter on the filter. You can rely on the differential pressure on the meter to replace the vial core.c.
2. LSF-AL AIR FILTER (ORION RAW FILTER)
Orion rough air filter aka coarse filter or primary filter LSF-AL is an abbreviation for the phrase Line Super Filter-Alumium i.e. high performance roughing filter.
It is recommended to install after the dryer because the LSF filter core is made of fabric. Paper layer and fiberglass layer stacked with small size up to 1 micron. Filtration efficiency is 99.999% with water filtering, oil filtering, and dust filtering functions. The filter should always have an automatic drain valve integrated with the filter (with small filters) or have an external automatic drain valve that also comes with the filter.
If the LSF pre-filter is installed before the dryer, Because the environment still has a lot of water, the filter core will be immersed in water. Over time, the filter core will rot and will no longer be able to filter. Therefore, when installing this filter, you must be careful (many factories install LSF filters before the dryer and MSF filters after the dryer).
The pressure loss when compressed air passes through the LSF filter is 0.005 MPa. The Orion LSF rough filter has an additional differential pressure meter in each filter to monitor whether the filter core is clogged or not? Normally the life of the filter core is 1 year or more.
In addition, the filter also has a DG50A differential pressure meter that can accurately know when to replace the filter core according to actual use.
3. AIR FILTER (ORION FILTER) MSF-AL
Orion MSF-AL fine filtration also known as Orion secondary filter is an abbreviation for the words Mist super Filter-Alumium Magnetic is a high-performance mist filter.
The Orion fine air filter or Orion secondary air filter is installed behind the air dryer. Its main function is to filter oil and oil crystals small size 0.01 micron with very high filtration efficiency up to 99.999%. That is, any particles larger than 0.01 micron in size when passing through this filter are retained. The amount of oil remaining after going through this filter is very small, 0.01 wt/ppm.
Filter core of secondary air filter Orion MSF-AL consists of many layers of fabric, paper, glass, etc. stacked together with very small mesh. The life of the air filter core is 1 year of use. But depending on the actual working environment, a reasonable alternative can be made. To avoid wasting electricity caused by clogged filters.
The Orion primary filter has an attached DG50A differential pressure meter. In order to monitor the pressure differential of the filter element and replace it over time. At the same time, this filter also integrates an automatic drain valve in each filter (small filter) or an external automatic drain valve (with large filter).
4. AIR FILTER (DEODORANT FILTER) KSF-AL
KSF deodorizing filter is Super fine air filter or Carbon activated carbon air filter. It is the final air filter in the compressed air system. KSF-AL are abbreviations for English words Carbon Supper Filter – Alumium.
Orion KSF deodorizing filter: has the function of filtering or deodorizing compressed air such as oil vapor, moldy vapor, etc. This filter is widely used in food factories, pharmaceuticals or dairy factories, etc. With the need for completely clean air does not affect human health.
The Orion ultra-fine filter is installed after the air compressor, lastly after the other filters LSF and MSF. Aim to filter out the smallest remaining crystals. Filtration level of Orion deodorizing filter is 0.003 micron.
The filter core of the deodorizing filter is made of activated carbon fibers (activated carbon fibers) and stacked fabric fibers. The lifespan of this filter element is higher than other filter elements. Because this is the final level of filtering.
